OK, so……
Today we attended the Community and Learning Partnership conference at The Roman Way Hotel, Cannock.
This was our first presentation and we were all a little nervous of what was to come. We had to stand up in front of approximately 100 people from accross Staffordshire and tell them all about Wyat.
I think we all did very well and special thanks go to Markey, Raggers, Henry and Kayleigh for all of their hard work.

As you may know we have not long come back from a training weekend. Kayleigh, our treasurer has written a short account of the weekend.
On Friday the 19th of May, Me, Amy, Sammi, Gary, Markey and Adam of the Wombourne Youth Action Team, met at the Wombourne Youth and Community Centre, before setting out for our training weekend which was to take place in Stanford. I travelled with Amy and Sammi and workers Di and Adam (big ad). On our way up there me and the girls spoke about many things like boys and fashion, but we all had our doubts about the other group of kids we were going to be sharing with over the weekend.
After introductions had been made, we were shown our rooms and had to make our beds. We all made a contract, agreeing to not bully others, only smoke if it was between activities and many other things, which everybody had to sign.
As the weekend progressed, time went really fast. We did a number of team building activities, and organisation activities, all of which included team discussions and respect from others.
I think the best parts of the trip were making new friends with people we thought we’d never mix with, the activities, learning about my team mates and having a laugh during and after activities. I also enjoyed going out on the Saturday night to a meal and bowling. All of which was for Markeys birthday.
I think the worst part of the weekend was saying goodbye, because everybody had enjoyed themselves and made great friends. So on the Sunday, before we left, we all wrote our names in the middle of a piece of A4 paper and passed it round everybody, everybody had to write something positive about that person. This gave me a confidence boost, because everybody said things like: she’s cool, loud and proud, is a right laugh etc.
I can gladly say I look forward to the next weekend away with them and other kids, and cant wait to see them all again.
Kayleigh.
